10 (Easy) Steps to Add to Your Skincare Routine

Having a solid skincare routine is something I swear by. It’s the foundation of healthy, glowing skin, and after years of refining mine, I can now complete my routine on autopilot—even when I’m half asleep. While my skincare regimen has evolved over the years, there are a few core steps that I swear by, along with some newer additions that have become game-changers.

If you’re looking to enhance your skincare routine without feeling overwhelmed, these 10 steps will add a bit of extra care and attention to your skin. The best part? They’re easy to incorporate, and with just a few changes, you’ll see noticeable improvements.

1. Double Cleansing

Double cleansing is a must in my routine. It’s the best way to ensure every bit of makeup, dirt, and oil is removed, leaving your skin feeling fresh and clean. Start with an oil-based cleanser or cleansing balm to break down makeup and impurities, then follow up with a foaming cleanser to deep clean your pores. Trust me—after your first double cleanse, you’ll be amazed by the amount of buildup you didn’t even know was there.

2. Clay Mask

A clay mask is a game-changer, especially if you have oily or combination skin like I do. I use it once or twice a week to help control sebum production and detoxify my skin. One of my favorites is Charlotte Tilbury’s Goddess Skin Clay Mask, which is lighter than many other clay masks I’ve tried. It’s easy to remove, meaning no fuss or mess after you’re done, and it leaves my skin feeling smooth and matte without being overly drying.

3. Overnight Mask

For extra hydration, I love incorporating an overnight mask into my routine at least twice a week. These masks are perfect for replenishing moisture, especially after long, tiring days or flights. One of my go-to products is the Sulwhasoo Overnight Mask, which works wonders on dry, dull skin. I also adore Amore Pacific’s moisturizer, which doubles as a sleeping mask—giving me the hydration I need while I sleep.

4. Mild Peel / Glycolic Mask

Although it has a slight tingling sensation at first, the results are totally worth it—it leaves your skin brighter, smoother, and more even-toned.

5. Face Scrub

Exfoliating is essential for maintaining smooth, healthy skin. I use a gentle face scrub a couple of times a week to slough off dead skin cells and reveal a fresh layer. One of my favorites is Summer Fridays Overtime Mask, which works as both a light scrub and a mask. The scent is divine, and it’s gentle enough for regular use—even during pregnancy, which was a huge bonus.

6. Face Oil

If you’re pressed for time and can’t commit to a lengthy skincare routine, at the very least, make sure to cleanse your face and apply a nourishing oil. Face oils are incredibly hydrating and leave your skin feeling soft and replenished. I’m currently obsessed with Vintner’s Daughter Active Botanical Serum, which has become a staple in my routine. It’s packed with nutrients, and just a few drops go a long way in keeping my skin moisturized.

7. Facial Rolling

Facial rollers have quickly become a must-have in my skincare arsenal. They’re perfect for de-puffing, relaxing, and improving circulation. I use a jade roller from Joanna Czech, one of my favorite estheticians, which helps wake up my skin in the morning and reduce any puffiness. Whether it’s part of your morning or evening routine, rolling gives you an instant glow and boosts your skin’s radiance.

8. Scalp Brush

This one’s a recent discovery for me, but I’m already loving it. A scalp brush has made a huge difference in the health of my hair. I use it in the shower to gently massage my scalp, helping to stimulate blood flow and remove excess oil. It’s incredibly relaxing and promotes hair growth. If you have dry or frizzy hair, I also recommend using a deep-conditioning hair mask for extra nourishment.

9. Body Scrub

Just like your face, your body needs exfoliation to remove dead skin and keep it looking fresh. I use a body scrub a few times a month, particularly during the winter when my skin tends to get dry. 10. Take Your Vitamins

Taking care of your skin from the inside out is just as important as what you apply to it. I swear by my daily vitamins to keep my skin glowing and healthy. From beauty supplements to omega-3s, they help nourish my skin from within. Always check with your doctor before adding new supplements to your routine, especially if you’re pregnant or breastfeeding.
